The station is in the parish of Uitzi, within the municipality of Larraun, 1.4 km south-east of the town centre alongside the NA-1700 road, very close to the Uitzi tunnel one of the most significant sections of the historic Plazaola railway.
An excellent example of early 20th-century Navarrese railway architecture: a second-class station, rectangular and two storeys, built of grey stone with red-brick corner piers and window frames, and a gabled roof. The ground floor housed railway services; the upper floor was the stationmaster's residence.
The station holds particular historical significance as the site where, on 19 January 1914, trains from Iruña and Donostia met during the railway's inauguration symbolising the territorial connection between Navarre and Gipuzkoa. Now a private residence, the area surrounding the old station is a tourist and cultural attraction forming part of the Plazaola Greenway, ideal for cycle tourism, walking and exploring industrial and railway heritage.
