On Ulizar Mountain, traces of the first chapel built in the late 16th century, at the height of the Inquisition's witch hunts still remain. Once marked as an area of witchcraft, the site is now commemorated with a plaque on 'The Witches' Trail'. The original chapel collapsed in 1820 under heavy snowfall, and the chapel we know today was built in the Arinbe area between 1851 and 1852.
