A scenic route with sweeping views ideal for hiking among mountains and ancient borderlands.
Starting from the Navarran village of Azkarate in the Araiz Valley at the foot of Mount Balerdi, an easy wide path leads to the Urtilleko Pass. The route follows the border with Gipuzkoa to the Zarateko Pass, passing a building once used as a Mikeletes customs post, before returning to Azkarate.
